Dr. Bill Conerly guides business leaders in building resilient plans adaptable to any economy. He has the unique combination of a Ph.D. in economics from Duke University and over 30 years’ experience helping companies thrive in changing economic conditions. He previously was Senior Vice President at First Interstate Bank and worked in economics and corporate planning at two Fortune 500 companies.

Dr. Conerly is a contributor to and the author of The Flexible Stance: Thriving in a Boom/Bust Economy. He also wrote Businomics: From the Headlines to Your Bottomline—How to Thrive in Any Economic Cycle, a book about economics for business leaders. He is co-author of Thinking Economics, a high school textbook used in over 34 states.

He is the longest-tenured member of the Oregon Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors, as well as chairman of the board of Cascade Policy Institute. His academic articles have been assigned reading for graduate courses in economics at MIT, Washington State and Wharton.

Dr. Conerly has been interviewed on the News Hour with Jim Lehrer, CNN, CNBC and local stations across the country. Dr. Conerly has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine and USA Today.
